What You
Need !
Heaven!
It has been said that What
We Need and What We Want are then two different things. There maybe
some things we want that we don't need, but most of the things we
need we want.
· We Need food,
shelter and clothing
· We Need Love in our lives
· We Need Joy in our lives
· We need Peace in our lives
· We Need to go to Heaven when we die
I think most people would
agree that each bullet above are a NEED and a WANT. Even those people
that say they don't believe there is a Heaven or Hell, would still
want to go to Heaven, if they thought there was one. The problem
comes in the way each of us seek to have each of those bullets in
our lives. We only think of the ones that affect us while we are
living and forget about what will affect us after we die. What you
need now, you will still need when you have left this life. To read
about someone that left this life without the security of the next,
read the story in the Bible Luke 16:19-31. No matter what we say
we believe, we all want to go to Heaven, because we know it is a
GOOD place.
Now there are all kinds
of religions that tell all different ways to get to Heaven, but
the Bible says that Heaven is a gift and it is not a gift unless
it is free.
Romans 6
23 For the wages of sin is death; but the
gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Now you would say what
is this "wages of sin is death"? That is the nature we
got from Adam and Eve after they sinned in the Garden of Eden. We
also pasted this sin nature on to our kids. That's why it is natural
for babies and young children to get mad and want their own way.
Romans 5
12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered
into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men,
for that all have sinned:
It is this sin nature that
keeps us out of Heaven. In our natural state, we do not want to
stand before God. We will suffer the "wages of sin is death",
which is Hell or the second death that God never intended for man
and woman to ever go to. They were tricked in the Garden of Eden
by Satan. Hell was created for Satan and his angels.
Matthew 25
41 Then shall he say also unto them on
the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire,
prepared for the devil and his angels:
Revelation 20
14 And death and hell were cast into the
lake of fire. This is the second death.
So we have a problem. A
big problem that will keep us out of Heaven.
Romans 3
10 As it is written, There is none righteous,
no, not one:
Romans 3
23 For all have sinned, and come short
of the glory of God;
Since God did not want us to go to Hell. Satan had tricked us. No
matter how good we try to be, we can not be good enough to remove
our sin nature. If we could be GOOD enough to get in Heaven, then
we would boast about how good we are.
Ephesians 2
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith;
and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
We have a God with a plan
to work it out for us. All we have to do is just trust His Plan
Romans 5
8 But God commendeth his love toward us,
in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
His Plan was so simple people have a hard time believing it. God's
plan was to give us Heaven as a gift.( If you have kids, this is
easy to understand. We want to give our children gifts for special
occasions even if they are not always good). But since sin demands
payment, the gift had to be bought by someone that could satisfy
our sin debt.
Romans 6
23 For the wages of sin is death, but the
gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
God let His son Jesus do
it for us. We receive the gift of Heaven just by trusting in what
Jesus did by dying. That was good enough to cover our "wage
of sin" of our sin debt or sin nature. That way God could be
JUST and MERCIFUL at the same time.
Romans 10
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth
the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised
him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Romans 10
10 For with the heart man believeth unto
righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Romans 10
11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth
on him shall not be ashamed.
Romans 10
12 For there is no difference between the
Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that
call upon him.
Romans 10
13 For whosoever shall call upon the name
of the Lord shall be saved.
If you want that free gift
of Heaven, it is just that simple. God said, in Romans 10:9 to confess
with your mouth. That means he wants you to pray (talk to Him).
God looks at what our heart believes and trusts, because our head
does not always understand. Have you ever flown in an airplane?
Did you really understand exactly what made it fly or did you just
trust the pilot. Let God be your Pilot!
To trust on Jesus now,
tell Him as Romans 10:13 says above. The words are not important
God is looking on your heart. Your prayer could go something like
this. "Jesus I believe you are Gods son and you died on the
cross for me. I want you to forgive me of my wrong doing (sin) and
take me to heave when I die. Now the very best I know how I will
live for you and serve you. Amen."
